We are especially well equipped to promote the ethical use of animals in research. Our mindset and many of the technologies we use adhere to the universal guidelines for Reduction, Refinement, and Replacement of animal models. Examples of how we accomplish these goals:
- Preclinical imaging can help visualize biology in the same animal over time, thus reducing the total number of animals used
- Ultrasound guided injections can be used to induce orthotopic models or deliver a therapy or test article without invasive surgery, thus refining the study work.
- Visually detecting biodistribution instead, thus refineing and reducing the animals used.
